Death is destroyed. What are bodies made of?? The earth. What is destroyed at this same time?? The earth and the whole first creation. People's bodies will be burned into non-existence even as earth is burned into nonexistence.
The scripture also states that Satan will be destroyed at the Lord's return, and Satan will be burned into non-existence never to exist again.
There is strong scripture supporting Annihilation of all evil.
In fact, Jesus on the cross destroyed Satan. The power of annihilation is the power of the cross, body, and blood of Jesus.
So, to think that "hell goes on forever" -- no, I don't think that's the only biblical view.
Those words for "time" in the Bible as related to punishment are vague and state that punishment goes on so long as that which is being punished -- exists. It doesn't mean "forever and ever" as in time without end -- UNLESS that which is thrown in the fire is not destroyed by all consuming fire.
I believe Jesus really did destroy Satan on the cross, really will bring that destruction into full manifestation at His return, really does destroy Satan at His return, really does destroy death and hell, really does destroy the first creation, really does destroy all Satan's evil works -- just like the Bible says.

Hey Brother Russ, Just visited this blog by a "chance" Google search. I've known of your work for about 10 years. You definitely walk where demons fear to tread! The answer to your excellent question about who are the "sons of hell" is simple. The Jews. More specifically, the party to whom Christ calls the "sons of hell" are the Pharisees, the progenitors of modern day Rabbinical Kabbalistic Judaism.
